Native to really arid areas of South America, Tectorum is one of our more rare species of Tillandsia. Given its dense trichome coverage, Tectorum’s foliage has soft, fuzzy blades that are a silver to almost white color. Although it is a slow grower, it can reach sizes in excess of 8 inches. During blooming a pink- violet spike will emerge from its center reaching a size taller than plant itself and shooting out purple flowers. Tectorum enjoys bright conditions (indirect light) and is very drought-tolerant.
