Native to South America, this plant has hard, dark green leaves that can handle drier climates. The bloom, which is a short, stiff braid that turns a dark reddish color, is particularly interesting in that it has clearly visible trichomes all over it. More unique still is the fact that unlike most tillandsias, Murorum produces pups at the top of bloom rather than the bottom of the plant.
