Native to South America, Elongata presents long, thin triangular leaves in the characteristic rosette shape of the bromeliad family. The leaves are a bright green color with occasional dark purple spots on the tops of the leaves. Elongata presents a red spike with purple flowers during inflorescence. This low light plant is well suited for indoor display, and it prefers relatively more watering than typical tillandsias.
